Our Work: Fashion, Inclusion, Culture and Climate Action

Disability inclusion

We believe fashion should reflect the people who wear it. Through inclusive casting, designer engagement, and accessible participation, Eco Fashion Week Africa works to ensure that persons with disabilities are seen, valued, and represented within fashion spaces. Our runway celebrates individuality and challenges narrow definitions of beauty.

Youth education

We engage young people through talks, workshops, mentorship, and practical learning experiences that introduce sustainable fashion, circular economy principles, entrepreneurship, and creative thinking. Our goal is to help the next generation see fashion as a tool for both opportunity and positive change.

SDG work

Our work contributes to several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Gender Equality, Reduced Inequalities, Quality Education, and Decent Work and Economic Growth. We use fashion as a platform to drive conversations and action around sustainable development.

Upcycling

At the heart of Eco Fashion Week Africa is our No New Clothes Runway, where designers transform existing materials into new creations. By championing upcycling, repair, and creative reuse, we demonstrate that fashion innovation can thrive without relying on new resources while reducing textile waste.

Community workshops

Our workshops bring together communities, students, creatives, and industry professionals to explore practical solutions for a more sustainable future. Topics include upcycling, waste reduction, responsible consumption, circular fashion, and creative entrepreneurship.

International visibility

Eco Fashion Week Africa provides a platform for African designers, innovators, and sustainability leaders to connect with regional and global audiences. Through international partnerships, speaking engagements, media coverage, and collaborations, we help amplify African solutions and perspectives on fashion and sustainability.
