SEASON 3 2025 RECAP
ECO FASHION WEEK AFRICA SEASON 3 – in Review
Eco Fashion Week Africa Season 3 took place from 1 to 8 November 2025 as a multi day celebration of circular fashion, African creativity, and conscious community. Across runway presentations, workshops, panel discussions, youth engagement, and collaborative experiences, Season 3 reflected EFWA’s growing role in shaping fashion conversations rooted in culture, sustainability, and purpose.
DAY 1
No New Clothes Runway | Kampala Edition
Season 3 opened in Kampala at The Emin Pasha Hotel and Spa with a vibrant gathering of fashion, sustainability, and community. The day brought together panel conversations, an eco market, interactive learning, and a runway presentation centred on upcycling and circular design.
Designers showcased collections created from existing materials, reinforcing EFWA’s commitment to rethinking fashion production through creativity and responsibility. The opening day set the tone for a week that balanced expression, education, and meaningful connection.
DAY 2 Malindi Kids Workshop
In Malindi, EFWA hosted a children’s workshop focused on upcycling, mending, and creative expression through fashion. The session introduced young participants to new ways of thinking about clothing, encouraging them to see value in what already exists.
Through simple hands on activities and open conversation, the workshop created a space for curiosity, imagination, and early awareness around fashion and the environment. It was a quiet but important part of the week, centred on the next generation.
Day 3 International Panel Discussion
The international panel discussion brought together voices from across the fashion and sustainability space to explore culture, circular design, and the role of African fashion today. The conversation reflected a growing shift in how fashion is understood, not only as design, but as a system shaped by people, materials, and context.
Speakers shared perspectives on traditional practices, modern approaches to upcycling, and the importance of keeping local knowledge present in global conversations. The discussion created space for honest exchange and practical insight, while reinforcing the value of African designers and communities within the wider fashion landscape.
Day 4 Youth Day | Delight Technical College
Youth Day at Delight Technical College focused on engaging students in conversations around fashion, creativity, and responsibility. Through discussions, garment swapping, and practical sessions, participants explored how clothing choices connect to wider environmental and social realities.
The day encouraged students to think differently about fashion, not only as a form of expression, but as something they can shape through their own actions. It was a grounded and interactive part of the week, centred on awareness and participation.
LOREM IPSUM DOLOR
Day 5 Community Cleanup
As part of Season 3, EFWA dedicated time to a community cleanup, connecting fashion conversations to everyday environmental action. Participants came together to take care of shared spaces, reinforcing the idea that sustainability is not only discussed, but practiced.
The cleanup brought a different kind of energy to the week. It was simple, direct, and necessary, reminding everyone involved that responsibility starts with small, consistent actions.
Day 6 Heels Connect | In collaboration with Sister Speaks Global
Heels Connect brought together women across fashion, media, sustainability, wellness, and business for an evening of conversation and connection. Held in collaboration with Sister Speaks Global, the gathering created space for open dialogue, shared experiences, and meaningful exchange.
The atmosphere was relaxed and intentional, allowing guests to connect naturally while exploring how fashion and personal expression intersect with identity, confidence, and purpose. It was a quieter moment within the week, focused on people and conversation.
Day 7 No New Clothes Runway Finale | Gem Forest MGallery Nairobi
Season 3 closed in Nairobi with the No New Clothes Runway at GEM Forest MGallery. The evening brought together designers, partners, media, and a conscious fashion audience for a presentation centred on upcycling, reuse, and thoughtful design.
Collections showcased the creativity of working with existing materials, highlighting the skill and perspective of designers who approach fashion with intention. The finale carried a sense of ease and clarity, closing the week in a way that felt both grounded and forward looking.
